Guide and Virtual Tour of Leeds: The Garden Of Rest, St Johns Church, Merrion Street.
Panorama | Review | Map and 45º Aerial View
This tidy small park is hidden alongside Merrion Street, for long the haunt of people drinking from brown paper bags, it is a tranquil spot in one of the busiest parts of the city.
The white and grey tower block seen here sits atop the Merrion Centre, the black and white 'Tudor' building was for many years 'Nash's Tudor Fish Restaurant'.
For a quiet break in a busy day - take a few minutes to relax in the park - what the heck, bring a bottle - the locals do! ( or at least they DID back in 2001, perhaps now regulations prohibit this lifestyle - ed.)
